What Iceberg Threads Provides

Iceberg Threads is a community platform for the creation, hosting, and sharing of iceberg charts, tiered visual maps that organize knowledge from the well-known to the deeply obscure. We provide these tools for community education and entertainment purposes.

The platform is provided on an ongoing basis and we reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.

2. User Accounts

Registration & Responsibilities

To access certain features such as creating charts, collaborating, and commenting, you must create an account via Google/Firebase Authentication. By creating an account, you agree to the following:

• →Age requirement: You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. Users under 18 should have parental permission before registering.
• →Account security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

• →Termination rights: We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that are inactive for an extended period or found to be in violation of these Terms.

Community Standards

Iceberg Threads is a community platform and the quality of that community depends on everyone using it responsibly. Users may not use the service to:

• ✕Post content that is illegal, threatening, defamatory, or promotes violence, hate speech, or discrimination of any kind.
• ✕Upload, link to, or distribute malware, viruses, ransomware, or any other malicious code.
• ✕Scrape, crawl, or otherwise systematically extract data from the platform without express written permission from the site owner.
• ✕Impersonate other users, site administrators, or any other person or entity.
• ✕Harass, bully, or threaten other users on the platform, including through comments, messages, or chart content.
• ✕Post repetitive, irrelevant, or low-quality content intended to spam the platform, game rankings, or manipulate discovery features.

Violations of this policy may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent termination, at our sole discretion. We reserve the right to report illegal activity to appropriate authorities.

Iceberg Threads relies on third-party services to operate. This includes Google Firebase for infrastructure (database, authentication, storage, and hosting), and may include other analytics or performance monitoring tools.

By using the platform, you acknowledge that these third-party services have their own privacy policies and terms of service, which govern how they handle your data. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

6. Advertising

How Ads Work on Iceberg Threads

Iceberg Threads may display advertisements served by third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense. These networks may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads that are relevant to your interests based on your browsing activity.

7. Termination

Account Suspension & Closure

You may stop using Iceberg Threads at any time. You may delete your account through the settings panel, which will remove your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the platform at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if required to do so by law. Upon termination, your right to use the platform immediately ceases, though content you have published may remain visible unless you have requested its removal.

The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any user-generated content on the platform.

9. Governing Law

Jurisdiction & Disputes

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the platform should first be addressed by contacting us directly at icebergthreads@gmail.com so we can attempt to resolve the matter informally.

If informal resolution is not possible, disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the applicable territory. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence.

How We Update These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify registered users via email or an in-app notice.

Continued use of the platform after changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you should stop using the service and may delete your account.
